A superb example of a Hobbs of Barbican top of the range Blue Riband Track machine, with the fanciest and crispest lugwork and beautiful twin plate fork crown. 23 inch frame in excellent condition, refinished and lug-lined to the highest standard. Rare original Blue Riband enamel head badge. Fitted with correct period parts including inch pitch transmission with block chain, and rare Brooks Champion Sprinter saddle. Very light and very fast.

Hetchins Magnum Bonum 1963

A superb example of a straight stay Hetchins Magnum Bonum. In very original condition with correct period parts. Finished in English Ivory with part chrome. Chrome is bubbling a little in places, otherwise good.

Frame: Hetchins ‘Magnum Bonum’ 1963; frame number H9982; seat tube 24″; built by Jack Denny for customer John Wall. Cost £22 1s 6d and Jack Denny was paid £2 8s 0d for building the frame. Weinmann (?) rims on B H Co ‘Racelite’ hubs. Tyres shown in pictures have been replaced with new Hutchinson low profile tyres. Stronglight Competition cranks with TA ring. Lyotard pedals. Campagnolo Record derailleur. GB Altenburger brakes with GB Superhood levers. GB Hiduminium stem with Ambrosio Champion bars. Alex Singer 1970

An excellent example of the work of the great Paris constructeur Alex Singer, or rather Ernest Csuka, who took over the business when Singer passed away. Dating from 1970 it has beautifully filed simple spearpoint lugwork and is finished in the house pale blue metallic with part chrome stays and forks. This randonneuse is on 700c’s and is fitted with the Singer hand-made stem and front rack, and chainstay protector braze-ons. Mavic rims on Campagnolo hubs, Spidel derailleur and simplex retro-friction changers. TA cyclotouriste triple chainset and 6 speed block. Maillard 700 pedals. Mafac Racer brakes. Brooks Professional saddle on Simplex alloy post. Lined alloy mudguards with Singer custom mounting reinforcements. Shellac coated handlebar tape.
